Studies about brain maturation aim at providing a better understanding of brain development and links between brain changes and cognitive development. Such studies are of great interest for diagnosis help and clinical course of development and treatment of illnesses. Several teams have begun to make 3D maps of developing brain structures from children to young adults. However, working out the development of fetal and neonatal brain remains an open issue. This project aims at jumping over several theoretical and practical barriers and at going beyond the formal description of the brain maturation thanks to the development of a realistic numerical model of brain aging.

ANR SpaceFusion

Period : 2006-2009

PI : [A. Jalobeanu]

SpaceFusion (ANR Jeunes Chercheurs 2005) - closed SpaceFusion is a 3-year project funded by the French Research Agency (ANR). The goal is to perform multisource data fusion in astronomy and remote sensing. We use Bayesian inference to combine multiple images of the same area into a single, physically meaningful model (image in astronomy, digital surface model in Earth or planetary observation). Errors are propagated from the sources to the estimated model. Working themes: Super-resolution, registration, stereo, DEM and DTM reconstruction, change modeling, uncertainties. Group participants: A. Jalobeanu, C. Collet, M. Louys, F. Salzenstein. Direct collaborators: E. Slezak, A. Bijaoui (OCA).

Period : 2003-2006

Coordinator : Christophe Collet for Lab. LSIIT

MDA (Data Masses in Astronomy) - closed This project is intended to set up collaborations between IT labs within a Virtual Observatory framework. Our group is mainly involved in this project through hyperspectral data reduction and fusion. Working themes: Multispectral image analysis, hyperspectral data reduction, data fusion. Participating research labs: CDS (Strasbourg), CERGA (Grasse), CESR (Toulouse), IAP (Paris), IRIT (Toulouse), LORIA (Nancy), LSIIT (Strasbourg), Observatoire de Paris. Group participants: all. Direct collaborators: F. Genova, F. Bonnarel, A. Schaaff, J-J. Claudon (CDS), A. Bijaoui, E. Slezak (OCA), S. Genaud, R. David (LSIIT).

ACI IDHA

Period : 2001-2004

Coordinator : Christophe Collet for Lab. LSIIT

IDHA (Distributed Heterogeneous Images in Astronomy) - closed Within the context of Virtual Observatories, this project aimed at the development of tools to integrate query results into heterogeneous image distribution services. The group was involved through elaborating methods of multiresolution cross-identification from multispectral images. Working themes: Multiscale cross-identification in multispectral imaging. Participating research labs: CDS (Strasbourg), LSIIT (Strasbourg), QUB (Belfast), IAP (Paris), LAM (Marseille). Group participants: C. Collet, M. Louys. Direct collaborators: F. Murtagh (QUB), F. Genova, F. Bonnarel, A. Oberto (CDS).
